Type Approval Automated Test System for Trunked and Conventional Mobile
Radio Terminals
The type approval test system for trunked mobile radio terminals certification
purposes allows the conformance analysis of the radio terminal according
to MPT1323 and ETS 300 086 in the case of conventional ones.
Iberlab/UX is the software platform used as the test engine core application.
The test system arquitecture responds to the traditional configuration
used for conventional mobile radio testing, although with some minor modifications.
The stimulus subsystem is composed by three RF signal generators to simulate
three simultaneous control/traffic channels in the network. These RF sources
can be either modulated by internal LF generators, external LF generators
or signaling FFSK generators depending on the nature of the channels that
the system should simulate for a given test. The analysis subsystem considers
a power meter, a spectrum analyzer, a modulation analyzer/receiver, an
audio analyzer, a digital waveform recorder, a FFSK signaling receiver
and broadband RF directional detectors. RF and LF signals are routed by
means of a switching unit, which also includes signal conditioning elements.
The system is completed with a DC linear power supply.
Currently, the system is being used by the Certification Laboratories
of Telefónica and the Secretaria de Telecomunicaciones (Science & Technology Spanish Ministry).
